Location3 was excited to host representatives from the Ronald McDonald House and First Descents following our company meeting yesterday. Kendra Ingles from RMDH and Brad Ludden from First Descents presented information about their important non-profits and volunteer opportunities to our team.
Location3 identified these causes to focus our philanthropic efforts on out of many suggested by staff. These are in addition to our long-standing dedication to SOS Outreach International, an organization that builds character in youth through outdoor adventure such as snowboarding.
The RMDH provides affordable housing for families of sick children near hospitals. There are two houses in the Denver area. This non-profit was brought to Location3′s attention by Project Manager Vanessa Goodfriend and Social Media Manager Kristina Zelisko, who both serve on the Event Committee for the annual gala, the Ronald McDonald House Storybook Ball. In addition to the annual donation, Location3 will provided six revamped computers for families to use for school, work and staying in touch in each RMDH house in Denver.
First Descents is an organization that provides young people who have survived or are battling cancer with an outdoor adventure camp designed to empower them, give them confidence and connect with other survivors. The programs include kayaking, rock climbing or surfing, and are aimed at ages 18-39. Account Manager Nicole Adams is a long-time volunteer with the organization and introduced the company to First Descents. Members of the Location3 Volunteer Committee participated in the First Descents Ball in March in Beaver Creek and Director of Technology Brandi Vandegriff will be volunteering at an upcoming camp.
